Let Beka go

Bekamenga confirmed thet he would go home at June 14th 2007, a day before Persib’s match in Jepara. He would go back at July 23rd.

The reason was if he doesn’t play in friendly matches in Aljazair, he might be not play in All African Games. Because the friendly matches is a selection for that Games.

There are some interest thing cases here. First, it is about professionalism from both player and Persib’s management side. Second, it is about Indonesian League scheduled.

Beckamenga may be not a professional player. He will play in unofficial FIFA matches. But he said that it is the selection games to select a player for All African Games or may be an Olympiad squad. This case may be same as Arif and Eka case, when they can not play for Persib because have to follow Indonesian National Team selection. If they are both able to follow the selection, why becka is not?

The management may be not a professional side either. They do not have all player schedules; include Cameroon U-23 National teams. They do not know when the players have to go to play with his country, especially here Becka. Then, they do not take a decision, is becka have to play for Persib or not? And as a profesional player, Becka has told that he will go home at June 14th, so what is the management reaction? Nothing, and it is June 13th now (I am afraid they will judge that becka is in wrong side).

And it happens is caused by Indonesia league scheduled. When European leagues are in holiday, what is it doing now? When some national team need their player to play for them, and the European player has been in their country, so what are our foreign players here? Still stay and play.

There are 3 benefits if he goes:

  1. The Persib sub-player likes Firasat etc, can play and get more experience.
  2. Beckamenga will get a lot of experience and it makes him better.
  3. There are many lessons here, and the main lesson is professionalism. For Players, management, and also for Indonesian FA.

So, I think, let Becka go and play for his country. Cause there is not many good things here but it will back to Persib itself.

Go Becka, go Persib, and go Indonesian football.
